De’lish food store is based on old fashioned values, yet full of very contemporary products. Our team of staff are all foodies; we all love to eat & we all enjoy sharing our passion for great food with our customers.
From the humble sandwich to the most complex Italian cheese wrapped in grape-must; we believe everything should be about truly good food. We are very proud of all the food cooked by our chefs on site and the other lines we have chosen for you – artisan cheeses, handmade biscuits, organic olives, special smallgoods, delicious antipasto, handmade pates & terrines, cold pressed extra virgin olive oils, aged vinegars, handmade chocolates, meringues & fruit curds, honey & so much more.
Behind the ‘blue door’ in the shop lies our in-house kitchen. Head chef Andrew leads the team that cooks daily – early in the day, it’s amazing muffins, quiches & mini frittatas. Hearty sandwiches, salads and meals for lunch & dinner follow later. Seven days a week, our freezers are brimming with slow cooked soups, stocks, casseroles, lasagnes, pasta sauces & finger food, of the very highest quality. We are great believers in “slow food” – we cook everything from scratch, just the way food should be!! No flavour enhancers, food colouring, gums or culinary short cuts.
At De’lish we choose the lines we buy in very carefully. Our products are mostly Australian and represent the best of what is produced in our regional areas. We also carry a limited range of iconic lines from around the world.
The “story” is very important to us, and we work with our suppliers to understand their produce so we can share that knowledge with our customers. We want to know where & how the ingredients are grown & sourced, and also how the products are made, so we can understand & value the process. We are privileged to work with some true artisans of the food industry; we enjoy sharing these food stories with you one at a time.
Saturdays are tasting day – Vicky loves to share her vision for food and can be relied on for an endless stream of ideas on how to use & present our products; she is always entertaining and a fountain of good food knowledge.
